The UltraLux bulb with built-in battery is turned on as a standard bulb. While the bulb is on, its battery charges. If there is no power supply, it provides up to 2 hours lighting. The bulb differs from other emergency lamps by the fact that in the absence of supply voltage, it can be still switched on and off by its switch. For standard emergency lamps this is not possible.

The emergency bulb can be used together with specially designed lampholder ASE27, that has a switch and a hook for hanging. The lampholder allows the bulb to be used as portable light in gardens, for camping or at places with no other lighting.
